Portsmouth Walk on the Wild Side
Come and have a relaxing stroll along the shoreline at Milton Locks with the local rangers. You don’t have to be in the countryside to enjoy nature, we hope to introduce you to at least 20 different species of birds living right here on your doorstep. If you’re an absolute beginner when it comes to spotting wildlife, then this walk is for you.
Booking details: All our walks are free, but booking is required as places are limited, so please reserve your place by emailing Ranger Dawn: dawn.thompson2@hants.gov.uk
Event Information
Meeting point: Meet in the car park adjacent to the Thatched House Pub, Locksway Road, Southsea, PO4 8LT. Look out for the rangers in their blue uniform. Link to location on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/PmyK5TUY5kYPrb19A
Duration: The walk will last up to 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace with regular watching stops.
Accessibility: This is an outdoor event in a public space. Whilst we will be following the footpath it can be uneven in places. Winter weather can also mean damp or muddy conditions therefore sensible footwear is essential.

Clothing: Please wear sturdy/sensible shoes and dress appropriately for the weather (we advise warm layers and a waterproof coat!).
