Try your hand at painting a pre-made turnstone clay cut-out

Join us at Dell Quay to learn about the Solent’s winter birdlife and paint a bird of your own. We’ll start with a birdwatching walk and will then move inside for the creative part of the afternoon – everyone will have a clay-cut out of a turnstone, which you can paint and take home at the end of the session.

This event is for families. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Booking details: This event is free, but booking is required as places are limited. Please reserve your place by emailing Ranger Alice: alice.ashcroft-dalley@hants.gov.uk

Directions and meeting point: Leave the A27 at the Stockbridge Roundabout, taking the A286 towards the Witterings. After about 2 miles take a right hand turn to Dell Quay. The Education Centre and classroom is located on the left-hand side of the quay at the far end. We will meet outside the classroom.

Parking: Park on the roadside adjacent to the pub or along the road as there is no parking on the quay. Please do not park in the pub carpark.

Duration: Up to 2 hours.

Accessibility: Uneven ground.

Dogs: Unfortunately, this event is not suitable for dogs.

Clothing: Please ensure that you have sturdy/sensible shoes for the walk and dress appropriately for the weather (we advise warm layers and a waterproof coat).

In the event of bad weather, we will skip the walk and go straight inside for the painting session.
