Rangers and telescopes at St Helens/Bembridge

Event details

Date: 15 February 2023

Time: 13:30 - 15:30

Location: St Helens/Bembridge Harbour, Isle of Wight

Coastal Bird Photography (Digiscoping) Drop-in

Join our rangers on the Isle of Wight to see what birds and wildlife we can spot in the harbour, whilst learning how to photograph them via digiscoping!

Digiscoping is the art of using your phone (or a digital camera) and a telescope to take images or record video from a distance! This can be a great option for coastal birds so that you can avoid getting close and disturbing them.

We welcome anyone to come along to this event, our rangers will be on hand to show you the birds and guide you on how to use the telescope. You don’t have to have any experience and if you just want to view and learn about the birds please do come along.

Where to find us: From 13:30 – 15:30 our rangers will be set up by the entrance to the causeway over Bembridge Harbour (Eastern side which is accessed from St Helens Duver) look for them in their blue uniform. Link to location on google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/mt3KFuHHweEQ8soh7

Booking: This a free drop-in session so no booking is required. Local parking charges do apply.
