Bunny Meadows guided birdwatching walk

Join our friendly rangers to see what wildlife we can spot around Bunny Meadows in Warsash. This is a short and gentle walk with plenty of time to stop and enjoy the wonderful birds that can be seen around our coast over the winter. Our rangers will be on hand to guide and show you the birds spotted along the way.

The walk is aimed at those who are new to, or less-experienced at bird watching. Families and children are always welcome (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). Bring binoculars if you have them but don’t worry if you don’t, you can enjoy views of the birds through the ranger’s telescopes. Some of the species we might see include dark-bellied brent geese, wigeon, dunlin, oystercatcher, black-tailed godwit, redshank, turnstone and greenshank.

Booking details: All of our walks are free, but booking is required as numbers are limited so please reserve your place by emailing Ranger Tony:

Event information:

Duration: The walk is around 2 miles long in total and will last up to 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace with regular watching stops.

Accessibility: This is an outdoor event in a public space. Some of the ground is uneven in places and can be muddy. There can also be some standing water (puddles) along the route and damp underfoot, therefore sensible footwear is essential.

Dogs: We welcome well behaved dogs on our walks but they must be kept on a short lead at all times.

Clothing: Please wear sturdy/sensible shoes and dress appropriately for the weather (we advise warm layers and a waterproof coat).

Our outdoor walks and activities are weather dependant. We aim to let you know by email in good time if a walk is cancelled due to bad weather. Please check your emails before leaving home.
