Beginner’s birdwatching session at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight
Join our rangers on the Isle of Wight for a guided birdwatching session along the beautiful Western Yar estuary. This is a short walk with plenty of regular stops to watch the wonderful wildlife that can be seen around our coast over the winter time.
Some of the species we may see include dark-bellied brent geese, curlew, oystercatcher, black-tailed godwit, lapwing and golden plover!
This session is aimed at those who are new to, or less-experienced at bird watching – our rangers will be on hand to help you learn more about these fascinating species and improve your coastal bird identification skills. Bring binoculars if you have them but don’t worry if you don’t, you can enjoy views of the birds through the ranger’s birding telescope.
The session is free but booking is required. The event will be limited to 20 people maximum, we will operate on a first come first serve basis. Please book via Eventbrite here
Meeting place: The southern end of the River Road Car Park in Yarmouth (across from the Wightlink ferry terminal). Look out for our friendly Rangers in their blue uniform.
