The Great Solent Birdwatch photography competition
Terms and conditions
- The Promoter of this photography competition is Bird Aware Solent at Manor Farm Country Park, Pylands Lane, SO31 1BHA (the “Promoter”).
- Submitted photographs must be taken within the Bird Aware Solent area (see Solent area map) between Saturday 23 and Sunday 31 October 2021.
- Entries must be emailed to info@birdaware.org before midnight on Sunday 14 November 2021. Entries received after 23.59 on Sunday 14 November may not be included.
- Entrants can submit up to two photos. Photographs can be colour or black and white.
- Entries must state whether they are for the Junior or Adult category, and where the photograph/s were taken
- Entrants into the Junior category must be under 18 years of age on Saturday 23 October. Entrants must be UK residents. Employees of Bird Aware Solent, their families, agencies or anyone else connected with this competition are not eligible to enter the competition.
- A winner from each category (Junior and Adult) will be chosen by the Bird Aware Solent team by 12 November.
- By submitting an entry, you agree that Bird Aware Solent may use the material for marketing purposes, including social media: credit will be given to the photographer. If a submission is made someone under 18, the entrant’s parent or guardian is understood to have provided the consent for marketing use.
- The Promoter reserves the right to discount or disqualify any inappropriate or offensive entries.
- The competition is free to enter and there is no purchase necessary.
- The winners’ prizes are 1 (one) £40 gift voucher for the Junior winner and 1 (one £40 gift voucher for the Adult winner.
- The prize is non-negotiable, non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-exchangeable and no cash alternative offered.
- The Promoter reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of equal or greater value should the prize granted become unavailable for reasons beyond its control.
- The Promoter’s decisions will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- A confirmation email with details will be sent to the email contact details within 12 hours of the winners being chosen. If the winner does not respond within two weeks (14 days), another winner may be chosen.
- Except for the purpose of carrying out the promotion and contacting the winner, the Promoter will not use entrants’ personal data. The Promoter will process the entrants’ personal data for the purposes of carrying out the promotion and contacting the winner. The entrant’s personal data processed for the purposes of entering the prize draw shall be retained for a period of 3 months after the survey has ended.

- You agree to be bound by the decisions of the Promoter, which are final in all matters relating to the promotion. No correspondence will be entered into.
- Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English courts.
