Bird Aware Solent welcomes two new year-round rangers.
Bird Aware Solent is delighted to be expanding its Ranger team and is really pleased to welcome two new recruits.
Natalie and Julie are super excited to have joined the Bird Aware Solent ranger team and can’t wait to meet you! They look forward to meeting you – whether you are out for a stroll, taking your pooch for a walk or just enjoying the lovely view of our stunning coast.
Julie is a passionate nature nerd and has a background in ecology and public education. She is currently still in awe that she is getting paid to watch birds! As a Canadian, Julie has enjoyed absorbing the rich natural and cultural history of the UK, and thinks its fantastic how intertwined nature and culture are here.
Natalie loves the outdoors and is often found enjoying a country walk. She comes to us from the world of countryside management as well as having experience in public rights of way. On a winters eve Natalie can be found curled up on the sofa with her current craft project and a glass of wine.
Our new rangers will be with us all year round. In the autumn and winter they will be found on the coast on regular patrols – please do say hello if you see them! In the spring and summer they will be developing and delivering an education and events programme, including school visits, talks and guided walks.
They look forward to meeting you in person on our stunning Solent coastline, and helping protect our overwintering birds.
