Partner with Bird Aware
Does your mitigation partnership have an important message to convey and need the tools to support it? Bird Aware can help.
Bird Aware is an innovative partnership that aims to reduce disturbance to internationally protected birds caused through recreation.
Open spaces where people like to frequent for leisure, relaxation and recreation are often areas that are inhabited by a wide variety of wildlife. This crossover can lead to a disturbance of the wildlife, which in turn can lead to higher stress levels and a higher mortality rate.
Bird Aware raises awareness of these effects amongst local communities through positive messaging and engagement. The independently researched strategy that Bird Aware adopts is endorsed as best practice by Natural England and has been honed since the Partnership’s inception.
The Bird Aware brand and messaging is transferable to other mitigation strategies and can be tailored to meet the requirements of different habitats and wildlife of individual areas.
Through becoming a Partner, you will have access to a wealth of advice, information and tools to help progress you to the next phase of the strategy.
Bird Aware recognises the power of a combined voice in protecting important and endangered wildlife and we are actively seeking other partnerships to further establish the messages amongst the public.

What the Essex RAMS (Recreational disturbance Avoidance and Mitigation Strategy) Partnership says:
‘Bird Aware is an excellent brand and we are delighted to be able to purchase it for the Essex Coast RAMS. Our new Bird Aware website and leaflet look great and were reasonably priced. The Solent Bird Aware team were friendly, helpful and easy to work with. I would recommend them to other RAMS partnerships.’
