Hen Harrier

Conservation Status: 🔴 Red

Named after their fondness of free-ranging fowl, this medium sized bird of prey has faced huge declines in the UK due to conflict with farmers.

A rare bird but can be found along the Essex coast in winter. Males are a pale grey, and females are a streaked brown.

Help the masses of existing conservation work for this amazing species by making sure to give them lots of space.

Also ensure to keep your ears and eyes peeled for distress calls or birds becoming aware of your presence.
