Being Bird Aware With Your Dogs

The Essex Coast is a fantastic place to share with your dogs. However as the space for wildlife continues to diminish, we ask all visitors to the coast (and their four legged friends) to take extra care to ensure that our wonderful birds have the best chance of survival.

Below, we’ve compiled some resources to highlight the best ways to enjoy the coast and keep your pets safe. We’ve also compiled some alternative things you can try out when the beaches feel a bit too crowded.

We’re conducting a dog walking survey to help inform us on how we can best represent and support dog walkers and dogs on the Essex Coast.

We have launched a short survey for dog walkers who use the Essex coast, designed to help us better understand how people experience and value these special places. Dog walkers are among the most frequent visitors to the coast, and their perspectives are essential in helping shape future engagement, guidance and practical initiatives that support people, dogs and wildlife.
